Description
I don't usually split up the scorecard if it's for only one season but given this is the show's only season, I didn't want to leave you waiting just one season. First off, I remembered more of this show than I thought, right down to certain moment. It is a decently memorable show, especially given when it came out. It has a really unique and cool visual style, and the concepts are used decent well on both levels. The show is mostly funnier than I remember it, and there are some good stories, “Dia De Los Malos' being my favorite from this batch.
As far as problems, the main one is it can get repetitive. Most early episodes follow this formula: Manny has a choice between doing the right or wrong thing, he pick wrong first, it goes wrong, and he learns his lesson. It mostly works but I was worried that's all they had, but it actually didn't take long for them to do more creative interesting stories with the basic ideas. This first half wasn't quite great, but pretty solid and about as good as I remember it, which is a good thing.
I look forward to see how the 2nd half of this only season turns out. (Yeah, this is good show Nick screwed over #44446). See you all then. (Didn't say a ton but hopefully it means i'm getting less long winded...hopefully)
